Honors Convocation 2023

Park University students, faculty and staff were recognized for their exceptional scholarly efforts from the 2022-23 academic year as part of the University’s annual Honors Convocation held on April 19 on the flagship Parkville Campus. The University acknowledged outstanding students, faculty and staff with a variety of special awards, in addition to a number of departmental academic honors.

Park University’s Howell Awards Recognize Leadership Achievements During 2022-23 Academic Year

In celebration of the leadership achievements of Park University students, faculty and staff during the 2022-23 academic year, the Office of Student Life and the Park Student Government Association announced recipients of honors as part of the 28th annual Dr. Doris A. Howell Leadership Awards. The awards program, held on April 12, is named for Howell, a 1944 Park graduate who was an internationally renowned leader in pediatrics and hospice care before passing away in November 2018.

Talk on Exoplanets Focus of Park University’s Johnson Family Lecture

A discussion on exoplanets — planets that orbit a star other than the sun — will be the focus of Park University’s Johnson Family Lecture Series in Science, which will be held Monday, April 24, at 7 p.m. in the Jenkin and Barbara David Theater inside Alumni Hall on the University’s flagship Parkville Campus.

Peter de Silva, former president and chief operating officer at UMB Financial Corp. and chair/CEO at UMB Bank, will present an invitation-only conversation on leadership during a program on Wednesday, April 5, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the National World War I Museum and Memorial.

Park University Hosting Community Health Fair

Park University’s Department of Nursing will host a community health fair on Thursday, April 13, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Park Avenue area of the Mabee Learning Center/Academic Underground on the University’s flagship Parkville Campus.

Ambassador Miller Event

March 15, 2023

David Miller Jr., who served as U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania from 1981-84 and to Zimbabwe from 1984-86, will speak in a semi-private event on Thursday, March 23, starting at 3 p.m. in the McCoy Meetin’ House on the University’s flagship Parkville Campus.

Women Transforming Criminal Justice

Park University will host a roundtable event featuring 10 women from the Kansas City region in criminal justice-related fields for a discussion on “Women Transforming Criminal Justice” on Wednesday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event, which is open to the public, will be held at Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the University’s flagship Parkville Campus.

Ceramics Exhibit Featured in Park University’s Campanella Gallery
