Brown Appointed College of Management Dean

Kirby R. Brown, who recently retired after 40 years of military and federal service, has been appointed as the dean of Park University’s College of Management. Brown starts in his new role at Park on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.
Missouri Humanities Council Grant

Park University has received a $2,500 grant from the Missouri Humanities Council in support of the University’s Spencer Cave Black History Month Lecture Series.
Kansas City Area Graduates December 2018

Park University held its December 2018 Kansas City Area Commencement ceremony on Dec. 8 at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, Mo. The University had 433 students eligible to participate in the ceremony — 174 students received a master’s degree and/or a graduate certificate, and 259 students received a bachelor’s degree, associate degree and/or undergraduate certificate. Ron Blumkin, chairman of Nebraska Furniture Mart, presented the keynote address.
Charleston AFB Graduates 2018

Park University’s Charleston (S.C.) Air Force Base Campus held its commencement ceremony on Dec. 7 at the Education Center Auditorium on base. The University had 44 students eligible to participate in the ceremony — five students received a master’s degree, one student received a graduate certificate, 34 students received a bachelor’s degree and four students received an associate degree.
Blumkin Commencement Keynote

Ron Blumkin, the chairman of Nebraska Furniture Mart, will present the keynote address during Park University’s Kansas City Area Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 8. The ceremony will be held at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, Mo., starting at 10 a.m.
3+3 Dual Degree PreChiropractic Program

Park University has partnered with Logan University in Chesterfield, Mo., on an articulation agreement that establishes a new 3+3 dual degree, pre-chiropractic program between the two institutions.
DSC Columbus Graduates 2018

Park University’s Defense Supply Center Columbus (Ohio) Campus held its commencement ceremony on Nov. 3 at the Ohio History Connection in Columbus. The University had 36 students eligible to participate in the ceremony — four students received a master’s degree, 21 students received a bachelor’s degree, three students received a bachelor’s degree and associate degree, seven students received an associate degree and one student received an undergraduate certificate.
Myers Appointed Provost

Following a nationwide search, Park University has announced that Michelle (Shellie) Myers, Ed.D., has been appointed provost of the University, effective immediately.
