Frasca Appointed to Senior Director Role

Park University has appointed Dana Frasca as senior director of network academic success. She began her role at Park on July 22 based at the University’s campus in Gilbert, Ariz.

El Paso Area Graduates 2019

July 29, 2019

Park University’s El Paso (Texas) Campus and Fort Bliss (Texas) Campus held a combined commencement ceremony on July 27 at the El Paso Convention and Performing Arts Center. The University had 207 students eligible to participate in the ceremony — 35 students received a master’s degree, 168 students received a bachelor’s degree, four students received a bachelor’s degree and undergraduate certificate, and eight students received an associate degree.

Hill AFB Graduates 2019

Park University’s Hill Air Force Base (Utah) Campus held its commencement ceremony on July 26 at the Davis Conference Center in Layton, Utah. The University had 63 students eligible to participate in the ceremony — one student received a master’s degree, 52 students received a bachelor’s degree, one student received a bachelor’s degree and associate degree, one student received a bachelor’s degree and undergraduate certificate, and eight students received an associate degree.

Holloman AFB Graduates 2019

Park University’s Holloman Air Force Base (N.M.) Campus held its commencement ceremony on July 27 at the El Paso (Texas) Convention and Performing Arts Center in conjunction with the University’s El Paso area commencement. The University had eight students eligible to participate in the ceremony — seven students received a bachelor’s degree and one student received a bachelor’s degree and undergraduate certificate.

Laughlin AFB Graduates 2019

Park University’s Laughlin Air Force Base (Texas) Campus held its commencement ceremony on July 25 at Anderson Hall on base. The University had 11 students eligible to participate in the ceremony — one student received a master’s degree, 9 students received a bachelor’s degree, and one students received a bachelor’s degree and associate degree.

Apollo 11 Presentation

Lynn Bondurant, Ph.D., a retired NASA educational programs officer and a 1961 graduate of Park University, will present a discussion on “The Legacy of Apollo 11: 50 Years and Still Counting” on Saturday, July 20 — 50 years to the day the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle landed on the moon (six hours prior to Astronaut Neil Armstrong first stepping foot on the moon on July 21, 1969, at 2:56 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time; Astronaut Buzz Aldrin joined him 19 minutes later).

New BOT Members 2019

The governing body of Park University — its Board of Trustees — has elected Jeanette Prenger to serve as its chair for the 2019-20 year. Prenger, a resident of Weatherby Lake, Mo., is a 2009 Park graduate. She is the president and chief executive officer of ECCO Select, a technology and human enterprise consulting firm in Kansas City, Mo. In addition, the Board of Trustees elected three individuals — Mitzi Cardenas, Mara Cohara and Sarah Moe Meyers — to serve a three-year term on the board, effective July 1.

Military Assistance

June 27, 2019

Park University, which has supported U.S. military service members since 1918 when it accepted students who were inducted into the War Department’s Student Army Training Corps, is stepping in to assist members of the U.S. Navy, which will be putting limits on who qualifies for tuition assistance and how much can be used.

Park University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Park University is a private, non-profit, institution of higher learning since 1875.
