Park University International Center for Music Concert to Feature Violinist David Radzynski and Pianist Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich

February 19, 2025 — A pair of internationally renowned musicians — violinist David Radzynski and pianist Lolita Lisovskaya-Sayevich — will perform in concert on Friday, March 14, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kan. Tickets for the concert (before fees), part of the Park University International Center for Music’s 2024-25 concert season, are $30 for the general public and $10 for students, and are available in advance through Eventbrite.

The concert is scheduled to include the following selections:
          •  “Violin Sonata No. 32 in B-Flat Major, K. 454,” composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The piece includes three movements.
          •  “Personal Verses for Violin and Piano,” composed by Jan Radzynski
          •  “Five Melodies for Violin and Piano, Op. 35,” composed by Sergei Prokofiev
          •  “Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 3 in C-Minor, Op. 45,” composed by Edvard Grieg. The piece includes three movements.

David RadzynskiRadzynski, who earned a graduate certificate in music performance/violin from the Park ICM in 2014 under the tutelage of Ben Sayevich, served as the concertmaster of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra from 2015-22, as well as the Cleveland Orchestra from 2022-24. His guest concertmaster roles have included appearances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony and Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Radzynski is known for his outstanding solo performances with the IPO, the Łódź (Poland) Philharmonic, the Polish National Philharmonic and the Columbus (Ohio) Symphony, as well as the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Poznan where he premiered a double concerto composed by his father Jan Radzynski. In addition to his graduate certificate from Park, Radzynski earned a master’s degree from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.

Lolita Lisovskaya-SayevichLisovskaya-Sayevich, who was born into a musical family in Uzbekistan, came to Park University in 2006 to study under legendary pianist and Park ICM founder/artistic director Stanislav Ioudenitch, earning a graduate certificate in applied music/piano 2008. That same year, she was hired as the ICM’s collaborative pianist and now serves as the director of collaborative piano. While a Park student, Lisovskaya-Sayevich won the Iowa Piano International Competition in 2007. She also won first prizes as a teen at the Chopin International Piano Competition in 1993 and the Nikolai Rubinstein International Piano Competition in 1996. Her career has spanned the globe, with performances in numerous countries and collaborations with esteemed musicians, showcasing her talent both as a soloist and a chamber musician.

The next concert in the International Center for Music’s 2024-25 season will be the ICM Orchestra’s season finale performance on Friday, April 25, starting at 7:30 p.m. in Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the University’s flagship Parkville Campus. The concert will feature guest conductor Barbara Yahr, music director of the Greenwich Village Orchestra in New York. Note: A concert scheduled for Friday, April 11, that was originally part of the 2024-25 season featuring Lisovskaya-Sayevich and oboist Hansjörg Schellenberger, was cancelled in early December 2024 and will not be rescheduled.
