Park University Appoints Daniel Gerber as Director of Academic Retention Initiatives
July 3, 2024 — Daniel Gerber has been appointed as the director of academic retention initiatives within the Office of Academic Affairs at Park University. Gerber began his duties on July 1.
In the role, Gerber will drive implementation and measurement of initiatives on strategic goals related to student retention, graduation rates, career preparedness and overall student academic success. Gerber is also responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, supervision and evaluation of a robust student retention program with a specific focus on first-year students, first-generation students, and at-risk and underprepared undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, Gerber will oversee the University’s Academic and Career Success Services team.
Gerber previously served as the education director for WellSpring School of Allied Health in Kansas City, Mo., since 2020. He also held roles as an academic integrity administrator, adjunct faculty, adjunct teaching assistant and lead writing instructional specialist for Ashford University (now part of the University of Arizona Global Campus) in Clinton, Iowa. In addition, Gerber served as a pharmacy technician, adjudication and prep-for-fill specialist with divvyDOSE Pharmacy based in Davenport, Iowa.
A resident of Kansas City, Mo. (Northland), Gerber earned a Master of Education degree in distance learning from Ashford University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in comparative literature from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an Associate of Arts degree in journalism from Black Hawk College in Moline, Ill.
