The Master of Education (M.E.) in Educational Technology for Teachers emphasizes the critical analysis of current technologies to enhance learning in the K-12 classroom.

Graduates will learn new strategies and techniques for utilizing technology to increase student engagement, retention, and mastery of outcomes in their classrooms. They will become an instrumental leader for other teachers in promoting the use of technology for learning.

Park University is a pioneer in developing innovative, online graduate programs for working professionals. This M.E. program is tailored for classroom teachers to apply what they learn during the program to improve and enhance learning directly in their classrooms. It is a 30-hour program and can be completed in 2 years.

Although a state certification is not offered at completion, the program follows the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards and Performance Indicators for Teachers.

Program Competencies

The program is designed to prepare graduates to:

  • Create and implement a technology-oriented vision and goals, with the needs of a diverse student population in mind, resulting in quality educational experiences with the effective use of digital tools and resources.
  • Design, develop, implement and assess authentic learning experiences and assessments with the safe and ethical use of innovative and contemporary digital technology.
  • Collaborate and communicate with families and community members to respond to their needs and interests by using digital tools and resources in order to foster engagement, partnership and advocacy to insure the success and well-being of students.
  • Continually research and use research-based technology tools and resources, using data from assessments to inform teaching and learning, and guide the progress of student learning.

Admission Requirements

  1. A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  2. Minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
  3. A felony background check and FBI fingerprint check must be completed for admission. Admission is dependent upon clearance.
  4. Students with a GPA between 2.75 and 3.0 may be considered for provisional admission.

Graduation Requirements

  • Completion of a minimum of 30 semester hours.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 for Park University courses.
  • Satisfaction of all requirements for a major as outlined in the academic catalog.
  • Completion of all earned credit with no more than 2 grades of C earned.
  • Submission of an Application for Graduation.

The Educational Technology for Teachers M.E. prepares graduates to use new strategies and techniques for utilizing technology in the classroom, to increase student engagement, retention, and mastery of outcomes.
