Why study actuarial science?

Actuarial science is the study of the financial implications of uncertain future events that relate to the quantification of risk using math, probability and statistics. Actuaries study how to quantify and manage risk in the insurance industry and to ensure that insurance companies are financially stable now and for decades into the future. The goal of the program is to prepare students for the first two actuary exams.
