When you earn the Bachelor of Science in Education with Missouri certification in elementary education, you will be able to teach at the elementary school level in either public or private institutions in the state of Missouri.

Locations & Learning Options

As a student in our bachelor’s in elementary education program, you’ll be required to take face-to-face classes at our Parkville, Missouri campus. This degree requires a minimum of 120 completed credit hours, including 75 hours of degree-specific core curriculum courses. Elementary education major students are required to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75—with no grade lower than a “C” allowed in core education courses. When you successfully complete the certification process through the Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education program, you will be able to teach at the elementary school level, from grade one through grade six. You’ll bring competencies in key areas to the classroom, including classroom management, diverse learning approaches, curricular planning and more.

Because there are specific general education and subject area courses required for graduation and for teacher certification in the state of Missouri, you should speak with your advisor regarding these requirements prior to enrollment in the bachelor of elementary education program.
