Park University’s Campanella Gallery Kicks Off 2024-25 Season with an Exhibit by Cody Page

Cody Page ArtAugust 22, 2024 — The Campanella Gallery at Park University has opened its 2024-25 season with an exhibit of illustrations and paintings by Cody Page. The exhibit, “Studio Illustration: Page Studio 24,” runs through Thursday, Oct. 31.

Page considers illustration as a decorative art with a practical function. Much of Page’s work is inspired, in part, by Gustave Corubet’s realism and Eugene Delacroix’s romanticism. Learning from these two Golden Age artists, Page enjoys painting a story on a single, two-dimensional surface.

“As an illustrator, I like both hearing and telling stories,” Page said. “Whether vague or specific, actual or imagined, the story is what I like to paint.”

The Campanella Gallery, directed by Andrea Lee, Ph.D., associate professor of art and design, is located inside Norrington Center on the University’s flagship campus in Parkville. The Gallery is open during Norrington Center’s regular business hours:
          •  Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m.
o  Norrington Center will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, for the Labor Day holiday
o  Between Saturday, Oct. 5, and Sunday, Oct. 13, the building will be operating on its Fall Break hours — Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, closed.
