The Office of University Communications and Marketing at Park University serves to provide support for publications, marketing, community activities, internal and external communications, news releases, graphic design, web design and telecommunications to effectively communicate with the entire Park University community.
An important part of our communication program is the guidance and assistance we offer individuals and departments on Park campuses nationwide. We work with administrators, staff, faculty and students to publicize events, produce publications and assist with special programs. We also provide assistance with editing copy for items such as fliers, brochures and program booklets, in both print and electronic formats.
The Office of University Communications and Marketing works to showcase Park University faculty, staff, students and programs though a variety of forums, including internal newsletters (Imprint Express, The Park Current, E-News), Park’s website, www.park.edu, local media and alumni publications, including the Park University Magazine. The OUCM is always seeking information about new programs, outstanding students, faculty/staff achievements and more. Please share your news!
The Office of University Communications and Marketing also serves the faculty, staff and students by sharing their accomplishments with colleagues, fellow students and various media outlets. Individuals should send submit a Park News form or send an e-mail to Brad Biles about papers they have presented or honors received. Information about staff and faculty is also used in the Imprint Express and E-News newsletters, in the Faculty Accolades section of Park’s web site and in Park University Magazine.
The Office of University Communications and Marketing maintains faculty resumé and curricula vitae files that are voluntarily submitted for the Speakers Bureau listing. These materials are used for requests for speakers and to provide background for news releases about administration, faculty and staff.
The Office of University Communications and Marketing sends news releases to local media about Park University events that are open to the public, as well as highlights faculty, staff, students and alumni major accomplishments. These events and accomplishments are also included in the Imprint Express and E-News newsletters. To publicize your upcoming event or to share other news, please submit a Park News form at least four weeks in advance of your event as media require information submitted weeks in advance.
Please include biographical information about speakers/performers or details about the event, and photos, if available. In order to set up advance interviews with reporters, submit the phone number and/or e-mail of the event contact person, guest presenter/performer and/or the contact information of the booking agent. Also provide the date(s), time(s), location and admission fee for the event. The Office of University Communications and Marketing will also assist in alerting the public if an event must be canceled or times/dates/locations change.
The Office of University Communications and Marketing fields calls and requests from all media outlets. Reporters may be seeking expert comment on breaking news or information about an event or program at Park University. It is the guideline of Park University, as well as most colleges and universities, that all requests for interviews from the media, including requests from Park student media outlets, must be routed through the Office of University Communications and Marketing office in order to:
Production of publications and web design is a major tenet of the Communication office, and we are more than willing to assist any department with submissions to the web page, and created mailers, posters, etc. We can also provide suggestions for local printers.
The Office of University Communications and Marketing also takes photos of major University events, such as convocations, commencements, ribbon-cuttings, etc. In addition, the Office has extensive photo files containing images of Park University buildings, student events, graduations and other special events. Please contact Brad Biles, communication coordinator, at email@example.com to request copies of photos.
