The Summer Leadership Academy has been postponed and may be held in Summer, 2012. If plans are deveoped, they will be posted in January, 2012.

Faculty tentatively planned for the 2012 Program:

Dr. Diana Boyd McElroy serves as Dean of Student Life at Park University.  She also teaches in the Master of Arts in Communication and Leadership Program at Park University, where she teaches Organizational Leadership, Measuring Leadership, and Qualitative Methods of Communication Research. Diana has also taught Leadership Development Studies at another institution, in addition to developing and facilitating numerous leadership retreats, workshops, and events.

Ms. Caroline Heckman is the Coordinator for Student Leadership and Engagement at Park University.  She has developed many exciting leadership programs for Park University students, including Project Leadership, Early Action, and Park’s new Leadership Minor. She has taught classes at 3 different institutions, including Exploring Leadership for the College Student and Freshman Seminar classes. Caroline is a Doctoral Student at the University of Kansas in Higher Education Administration.

Special Guest Speakers:

Dr. Laurie DiPadova-Stocks is Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies at Park University, and her research and teaching emphasis is Leadership.

Ms. Kay Barnes is Founding Director and Distinguished Professor for Public Leadership for the Center for Leadership at Park University.  Ms. Barnes is the former mayor of Kansas City and continues to develop programs beneficial to the area, such as her work as Co-Director of the CORO Kansas City Program.

Mr. Don Wise is a Fellow in Park’s Center for Leadership and serves as Co-Director of the CORO Kansas City Program.

Ms. Jody Edgerton serves as Director of International Affairs/Trade Development for the Mid-America Regional Council.
