Apply for Financial Aid

Application Deadlines

All necessary paperwork must be received by our office at least one full month prior to the start of the semester for which you plan to enroll. Student Financial Services suggests a student apply for aid a minimum of 90 days prior to the beginning of the term.  The student will be awarded for the terms usually Fall 1 through and including Spring 2.  Summer is normally packaged separately, unless the student begins attending later in the year.

Beginning with the 2017-2018 FAFSA cycle, the FAFSA web page is available to student and their families three months earlier, on October 1, 2016 (for the 2017-2018 award/academic year) Also beginning with the 2017-2018 cycle, the FAFSA will collect income information from the tax/calendar year one year earlier than has been used in the past. Thus for the 2017-2018 FAFSA, students and families will provide income information from the calendar year 2015 (and not calendar year 2016). SFS has a ‘priority deadline’ date of March 15th each academic year.

The Summer 2017 Aid Request form is now available. The Summer 2017 priority deadline is May 1, 2017 – Late submissions may result in funding delays.

Coordination of Financial Assistance

Any financial aid awarded is subject to review based on assistance received from outside sources. All sources of aid, with the exception of Chapter 31 VA benefits are regarded as estimated financial assistance and must be included in the financial aid award.

Funds received from outside sources, combined with existing aid which exceed the limit of gift aid and need based scholarships will be coordinated to first reduce the loans and or work resources, and then college or grant scholarships.
