Summary
|
|
Early this year I was promoted to Assistant Dean in the School of Business. We have more than 5,000 undergraduate majors and over 300 students in the MBA Program. My major focus will be the management of our effort to achieve accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Prior to joining Park, I spent more than 20 years in marketing and finance, in positions with divisions of Merrill Lynch, Dean Witter Discover & Co., 20th Century-Fox Film Corporation, AMC Entertainment, Western Resources, Rockhurst University, Hallmark Cards, UMB Bank, and Sprint. I also served as an adjunct instructor in the marketing departments at Rockhurst University and Avila University
Throughout my career I have remained very active in the small business community, serving on the boards of several startups and workouts. I retain my professional ties with involvement in my own marketing research firm. Not only involved in the Kansas City community; I am also concerned with international trade and have participated in three economic missions to Mexico since 1996. In that capacity I served as a consultant, helping Mexican firms to identify target markets in the United States.

Research Topics

|
During the past 5 years I have been active in the development of small business in the Kansas City Urban Core, as wel as the Hispanic Community.
A recent project of note has been my work in the development of the Third Age Navigator (www.3ANavigator.org), an online resource designed to provide users with a clear, objective perspective for navigation of the important questions and decisions associated with aging in our society. This tool is designed for those navigating their own journey, and for those helping a family member or friend.
The Bickford Education Center on Aging (BECA) has developed Third Age Navigator as a key initiative in support of our objective of becoming “the most trusted comprehensive resource for objective information and learning for and about seniors.”
BECA is dedicated to helping both personas identify and utilize the important information required to make prudent life-stage decisions.
This resource is a collaborative effort that involves public, private, and philanthropic resources in the creation of a viable portal for objective information on the questions of aging. Partners in the project include Insight Management Consulting, University of Missouri - Kansas City Libraries, Wichita State University, and MARKETsolutions.
