Online Minors


A minor is required for all students declaring a Bachelor of Arts degree per the 2012-2013 catalog.  Minors are not available for Associate degrees or certificates.

 

Business Administration/Finance

A total of 21 hours is required to complete this minor. The hours are distributed as follows:

Class Requirements

  • EC141 - Principles of Macroeconomics 3 cr.
  • AC201 - Principles of Accounting I 3 cr.
  • AC202 - Principles of Accounting II 3 cr.
  • EC303 - Money, Credit and Banking 3 cr.
  • FI360 - Financial Management 3 cr.
  • FI417 - Investment Analysis and Management 3 cr.
  • FI425 - Principles of Real Estate 3 cr.

TOTAL: 21 credits


Business Administration/Human Resources

A total of 21 hours is required to complete this minor. The hours are distributed as follows:

Class Requirements

  • AC201 - Principles of Accounting I 3 cr.
  • MG260 - Business Law I 3 cr.
  • MG371 - Management and Organizational Behavior 3 cr.
  • HR353 - Intro to Human Resource Management 3 cr.
  • HR357 - Employment Law 3 cr.
  • 3 hours of HR electives at 300/400 level.

Economics

A total of 18 hours is required to complete this minor. The hours are distributed as follows:

  • 15 hours of English electives are required, 6 at the 200 level and 9 at the 300 level

A total of 18 hours is required to complete this minor. The hours are distributed as follows:

Class Requirements

  • A minimum of 18 hours from any courses in Geography (GGH, GGP) can be taken to fulfill this requirement.

A total of 18 hours is required to complete this minor. The hours are distributed as follows:

  • A minimum of 18 hours from any courses in Physical Geography (GGP) or Geology (GO) can be taken to fulfill this requirement.

A total of 18 hours is required to complete this minor. The hours are distributed as follows:

  • CS151 - Introduction to Programming 3 cr.
  • CS208 - Discrete Mathematics 3 cr.

  • CS365 - Computer Networking 3 cr.

Leadership

A total of 18 hours is required to complete this minor.  The hours are distributed as follows:

Class Requirements

  • CA233 - Introduction to Leadership 3 cr.
  • CA235 - Multicultural Communication 3 cr.
  • CA490F - Processional Learning Experience: Leadership 3 cr.
  • CA492 - Capstone: Organizational Leadership 3 cr.
  • 6 hours from the following, not from the same discipline: CA475, HR310, PA333, PC321, PS341, PS/SO301

TOTAL: 18 credits

 

Military Studies

A total of 18 hours is required to complete this minor.  The hours are distributed as follows:

Class Requirements

  • HIS211 - The Great War, 1914-1918
  • HIS332 - World War II
  • HIS330 - US Military HIstory
  • PO320 - American Foreign Policy
  • 6 hours of electives and/or Military Service Credit

TOTAL: 18 credits

 

Natural Science

A minimum of 19 hours is required to complete this minor. At least one course from each of the following areas is required:

Biology

  • BI101 - Biological Concepts 4 cr.
  • BI214 - Personal and Community Health 3 cr.

Chemistry/Physics

  • CH107 - Introduction to Chemistry I with Lab 4 cr.
  • CH301 - Chemistry and Society 3 cr.

Geology/Geography
