In celebration of Park University’s Year of Diversity and International Education Week, Park’s Office of International Students is hosting “The World Underground: An International Festival” on Friday, Nov. 17. The event, which will held from 5:30 to 8 p.m., will be held in the University’s underground Academic Plaza within the Parkville Commercial Underground on the Parkville Campus. Admission to the festival is free and open to the public. A buffet dinner will be served for a separate fee.
The International Festival will include information booths, performances, cultural activities and fashion shows from countries around the globe, all featuring Park students representing their native country and sharing the unique and diverse characteristics of their homeland. Countries scheduled to be represented include Brazil, France, Guatemala, Ireland, Japan, Micronesia, Nigeria, Russia and South Africa. In all, the University boasts more than 260 students from 58 countries around the globe.
In addition to the festival, an international buffet will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. featuring food from 12 countries. The price for the buffet is $7 per person.
