June 10, 2014 — Park University will offer a new degree program — the Bachelor of Science in Military History — to students this fall. The military history degree program, available online, will combine Park’s liberal arts foundation with in-depth study of military-related events that have shaped the world in which we live today.
The degree focus will examine military history from a cultural, theoretical, historical, economic and scientific perspective. The topics include the history of warfare, philosophy and theory, major wars and battles, science and technology, and the relationship of war and culture.
“Park University has endeavored to serve its military students, both active military and veterans, by providing degree programs that fit their goals and needs regardless of the students’ location,” said Debra Sheffer, Ph.D., associate professor and program coordinator of history.
“The military history degree is significant because it offers students a degree many have requested in the past, one that enhances their career path,” said Sheffer. “It is unique from similar degree programs at other institutions, because it maintains Park’s liberal arts foundation and sustains the University’s ongoing partnership with its military students.”
Park accepts transfer credits for military and veterans and is ranked highly by several esteemed military education publications, including Military Advanced Education, Military Times and G.I. Jobs.
Enrollment is open for Fall 2014 classes. For more information or to apply, visit www.park.edu.
