Lee Nordgren, D.Sc., has been appointed as the Edward F. Lyle Professor of Finance and Director of the Graduate Program in Business at Park University. Nordgren started in her position on June 1.
Nordgren, who has more than 20 years’ experience in both higher education and industry with expertise in finance and management, will oversee the University’s Master of Business Administration program. She previously served the University as visiting assistant professor of management in Park’s School of Business teaching strategy, international business, small business/entrepreneurship and international finance.
“Dr. Nordgren is a tremendous addition to the faculty at Park University,” said Brad Kleindl, Ph.D., dean of Park University’s School of Business. “She brings a depth of management experience in finance with firms and organizations around the world.”
Prior to coming to Park in 2012, Nordgren was chair of the School of Business and chair of the College of Information Systems and Technology at the University of Phoenix, Hawaii campuses for two years, and an adjunct instructor at Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., for one year. In addition, she was chair of the Department of Business Administration at LCC International University, Klaipeda, Lithuania, and has been on the faculty at Argosy University, San Francisco; Fakultet za Menadzment, Novi Sad, Serbia; Universidad de Especialidades Espiritu Santo, Guayaquil, Ecuador; University of Liverpool/Laureate, The Netherlands; Rochester Institute of Technology’s American College of Management and Technology, Dubrovnik, Croatia; LCC International University, Klaipeda, Lithuania; University of Oradea, Romania; Braca Karic University, Belgrade and Novi Sad, Serbia; Ivy Tech State College, Bloomington, Ind.; Indiana University, Bloomington; Guilford Technical Community College, Jamestown, N.C.; University of North Carolina, Greensboro; and the University of Cincinnati.
Her non-academic experiences include serving as a development consultant for the U.S. Agency for International Development and for World Bank/IFC in Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Romania and Serbia; the vice president of sales and marketing at Tigar Trade in Serbia; brand manager for Sara Lee Corp.; director of strategic and business planning for Chiquita Brands Corp.; and market/financial analyst for Procter & Gamble Co.
Nordgren earned her Doctor of Science degree in management from Privredna Akademija in Serbia; a Master of Education degree in higher education administration from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro; a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University; and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati.
