Study Abroad in Italy: Turin, Padua and FlorenceChoose Italy: Embrace the mastery of Italian art, history and culture June 15-30, 2011 ML235 (3 credit hours) and/or AR315 (3 credit hours) ML235: Survey of European Literature (LL) AR315: Special Topics in Art (LL) Program fee: $3,500 (subject to final arrangements) Includes airfare, lodging, 2 meals/day guided tours, museum entrance fees, daytrips and ground transportation. Cities visited: Turin (Torino) Padua (Padova) Florence (Firenze) Verona Venice (Venezia) Italian culture is a fundamental component of modern European and American civilization. The influence of Italian masters like Da Vinci, Dante, and Giotto is as significant today as it was 600 years ago. This study abroad program is dedicated to helping students understand the breadth of Italian influence on important literary figures, such as Shakespeare, Moliere, Cervantes and Milton as well as artistic figures. Classroom activities will be substantially supplemented by guided visits to essential cities and historical sites in Italy, including Venice, Padua, Verona, Florence and Turin.
