Our Academic Offerings

The ICS Department has a variety of academic offerings (majors, a minor, and a certificate) in a variety of formats. Except for the BS in Computer Based Information Systems, all of the following are offered in Parkville daytime, online, and at numerous campus centers (including those in the Kansas City area).

• Our flagship degree is the BS in Information and Computer Science. ICS majors choose one or more specialty areas from among these options: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Management, and Networking & Security.
• A second bachelor's degree is our BS in Computer Based Information Systems. This degree is offered only in the accelerated, 8-week format through campus centers in the Kansas City area.
• The department offers an Associate's Degree in Information and Computer Science.
• The department offers a Minor in Information and Computer Science.
• With the advent of the 2012-2013 undergraduate catalog, the department will offer a Computer Networking Certificate, which prepares students to pass the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) exam.
