Dr. Doris Howell Leadership Awards

In celebration of the leadership achievements of Park University students, faculty and staff during the 2011-12 academic year, the Office of Student Life and the Park Student Government Association co-hosted the 17th annual Dr. Doris A. Howell Leadership Awards Banquet on April 11 on the Parkville Campus. The banquet is named for Howell, a 1944 Park graduate and an internationally renowned leader in pediatrics and hospice care.,

ICS students compete at programming contests

On March 31, 2012, one team of Park University Information and Computer Science student competed in the CCSC: Central Plains Programming Contest at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, MO. This team consisted of senior Anna Cong Luo and juniors Long Nguyen and Nirendra Shakya.

On November 6, 2011, two teams of Park University Information and Computer Science students competed in the annual ACM programming contest at Missouri State University, Springfield, Mo. The Park Pirate team of senior Leonardo Sa and junior Long Nguyen, placed fifth at the contest site. The Park Kidd team of seniors Anna Cong Luo and Bruce Jenkins, and junior Nirendra Shakya placed ninth at the contest site. Within five-hour limit, Park Pirate successfully solved 4 problems and Park Kidd successfully solved 3 problems.

Students Recognized for Success in IBM's Master the Mainframe Contest 2011

Each year, IBM runs a contest/training exercise call Master the Mainframe. The 2011 contest concluded on December 28, 2011 and the results have been posted. Three Park students have received recognition for their performance in the contest:
