Senior Examinations
All majors must pass a three-hour written comprehensive examination in English language and literature, covering one period in English literature, one in American, and a third area. A one-hour oral examination follows the written examination: it is conducted by members of the English Department and may include one other faculty member. The student must pass both examinations.
