Do I have to live on campus?

Park University does have a residency requirement.  If you are a single student under the age of 21, you are required to live in a residence hall, unless:

  • You are living with your parents, legal guardians, or dependent children.
  • You have 58 or more credit hours prior to the first semester of attendance.

Do I have to have a meal plan?

Yes, if you are a resident student, you need to choose one of the three meal plans. Board is part of the room and board package and cannot be separated.

Are there apartments on campus?

Dearing apartments are available on the 4th floor of Dearing Hall. For an application and leasing information, contact the Office of Residence Life, (816) 584-7401.

Do I need to buy the health insurance coverage?

The Student Accident and Health Insurance Plan is mandatory for all full-time residential students, international students, student-athletes and students enrolled in the nursing program.

Mandatory coverage can only be waived as follows during the first eight days of the term:

  • Wavier must be on file in the Student Assistance Center currently located in Norrington.
  • A copy of proof of existing coverage must be presented and attached to the waiver form.
  • If you are under the age of eighteen the waiver form will have to be signed by a parent or a guardian.

How many Residence Halls are located on campus?

There are two residence halls available on campus: Chesnut Hall and Copley Quad

Is there a deposit required to live on campus?

A one time $100 deposit is required of all residents to stay on campus.

Are single rooms available in the residence halls?

Single rooms are available in limited numbers. Priority is given to upper-classmen. An additional charge is required at confirmation each semester for Chesnut singles. See Room and Board Rates.

What about an Internet Connection?

Wireless connection is available in all buildings and Ethernet connection is available in rooms upon request.

In order to access Park University’s internet in the residence halls you must:

  • have current virus scan software installed and activated on your computer
  • login to the Safe Connect Website
  • download and install the Safe Connect Policy Key
  • See Safe Connect instructions for more information

Upon arrival to campus, you will be asked to sign an acceptable use policy. You will also be asked to provide computer identification numbers for security and acceptable use purposes. Within one week of completing the form and providing the information, your port will be activated.

We are working to take care of issues before they arise, but ask for your patience as we work through this new service to you.

E-mail is Park University’s official form of communication and should be checked daily. You will be able to log into your e-mail account after getting your student ID number and password, which is mailed out to students. For security reasons, the ID number and password are each sent in a separate letter. E-mail can be accessed via the main webpage and through the MyPark portal.
