Park University offers a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a Mathematics minor, and Dual Degrees in Mathematics & Engineering B.S.

Our Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree program is designed to prepare students for graduate studies in mathematics, related sciences, economics and business administration. This program will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in this complex area of study.

Locations & Learning Options

As a student in our Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program, you’ll be required to take face-to-face classes at our Parkville, Missouri campus. If you choose to minor in Mathematics, you may take classes at our Parkville, Missouri campus.

The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree requires a minimum of 120 completed credit hours, including 40 hours of degree-specific core curriculum courses. The minor in mathematics requires 22 credit hours. Refer to your catalog for a complete listing of coursework for this degree.

JM Good Institute for Undergraduate Research in Mathematical Sciences

The J Malcolm Good Institute for Undergraduate Research promotes scholarly and creative activities in mathematical sciences at an undergraduate level. It supports undergraduate research via funding for resources, travel support for research purposes, and more. It also provides competitive scholarships to exceptional mathematics majors and minors. To apply for a scholarship, students must complete the courses MA223 and MA311 and fill out the JM Good Scholarship application form. Applications should be made through the Park University Scholarships office no later than March 1.

In addition, the institute organizes annual JM Good lecture series.

Mathematics is a body of knowledge concerning a class of symbols and the relation between them.

At Park University, our mathematics program offers core and advanced courses in geometry, algebra, statistics, and other areas of mathematical theory and practice. After the program, you may go on to pursue graduate studies in mathematics, related sciences, economics and business administration. Other options include beginning actuarial work, teaching at the secondary level and beginning work in data processing.

If you’re interested in teaching mathematics, you may also pursue a Bachelor of Science in Education.
