Dear Friends,

I am honored to be able to serve my alma mater as the Park University Alumni Association President.

I graduated from Park University in 1981 with a Communication Arts degree. Park offered me ample opportunities to be an on-campus leader, putting what I learned in the classroom into practice. I learned a lot about service from my time as a resident assistant, student government Senator, NARVA editor,  and Harvest Fest King. At this time in my life, Im pleased to be able to use those leadership skills I honed when I was an undergrad as president of this organization.

These days, Im living in Austin, Texas, and working as a special education teacher, but my time spent at Park made such an impact on me as a young man that I want to be a part of the Park University experience as an adult. As president of the Alumni Association, Id like to invite you to also reconnect to the University that helped form who you are today.  Perhaps youd like to bring your family to Park University in Parkville, Mo., for a Fall soccer game, Alumni Weekend, or maybe join other alumni at an outreach event throughout the country. The alumni office is constantly seeking mentors for students and young alumni who are on the job search. Maybe you would be an invaluable help to one of those young people. Hopefully youll take the time to join PirateLink, Parks online alumni community, or the Park University Alumni Connections Facebook App, and reminisce with your old buddies from such groups as the Hermits, one of the social clubs or simply your time on one of our campuses. There are countless ways to reconnect with your alma mater. Discover what suits you best.

The Alumni Association and I eagerly await your participation in serving Park University this year and the years to come. Not only will you benefit from this, but our students and the University will prosper, too. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon.

Jeff McKinney, 81
Alumni Association President
