Statement on the U.S. Federal Government ShutdownThe Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) offers the following statement on the recent shutdown of the federal government: Read the NASPAA Statement
We join NASPAA in recognizing the hard work, commitment to service, and patriotism of our nation’s dedicated public servants. This includes all the furloughed federal employees, and other federal, state, local, and military who were adversely impacted by the interruption in our government.
Many graduates of Park University with their MPA, BPA and MHA degrees are among those public servants negatively impacted. They embrace the Hauptmann School values of serving the common good, making ethical decisions, exercising authority responsibly, acting with moral courage, and protecting human dignity worldwide.
All public employees at all levels of government make daily commitments to serve each of us in many ways that many Americans re-discovered during the shutdown. Their hard work is worthy of high praise. We take this opportunity to renew our commitment to them and to our great Nation.
